Registration fees

Registration fees are due for each student enrolled and are only paid once. Enrollment is only final after payment of these fees. A 50% exemption is granted for the 3rd child enrolled at LIFE school.

Financial regulations 2023 - 2024

This document should be read carefully. Any registration of a child at LIFE School Jakarta implies acceptance and compliance with our financial regulations.

1. Tuition fees

Tuition fees cover: 

  • Tuition and various LFJ liability insurances.
  • Individual student insurance subscribed by life school which comes in addition to the compulsory insurance subscribed by the parents (cf. annexe II).
  • Textbooks and supplies as appropriate :
    • Primary school: textbooks and supplies (notebooks, notebook covers, etc.)
    • Secondary school: textbooks and school books.

As a reminder, parents can order supplies (except small supplies) through life school, whether is is paid for by the school or not.

  • Registration to 1 (une) extra-curricular activity (AES) for a maximum amount of 2 million rupiahs.


Tuition fees don’t cover:

  • The sports outfit ;
  • The cotton blouse for scientific activities in Senior High school ;
  • Small school supplies (pens, erasers, glue, scissors, folders, etc.) ;
  • Registration to CNED for the students who must do so ;
  • Costs related to «extra core curriculum» options, or any other class that has less than 4 registered students as stated in the special provisions ;
  • Costs related to educational outings and various excursions ;

2. First enrollment fee

  • The amount of these fees has been approved during the General Assembly of December 14th, 2022.
  • The first enrollment fees are payable upon the first registration for each child registered at life school.
  • The student’s registration will only be final after payment of these fees.
  • These fees are payable in one go before the student’s first day of school.
  • If for one reason or another the child does not show up on the scheduled date at school, we ask you to notify the school leadership team by email or telephone within 15 days. If this is not the case, the school reserves the right to allocate the child’s place in the event of a waiting list. The first enrollment fees remain acquired by the school.

3. Payment terms

The invoice for the first semester will be issued and distributed no later than early July, followed by the second semester invoice in December. There are 3 (three) options of payment terms:

I. Normal payment by semester, must be fully-paid before the start of each semester.

II. Early bird payment; Payment of full one-year tuition fees before August 15 th will receive 3% discount on the tuition fees.

III. Monthly payment; 10 installments from end of August to end of June, will be added 3% surcharge to cover additional admin and finance costs.

  • The corresponding invoices will be given to the students and sent in JPG format to the parents’ email addresses.
  • Payment must be made in Euros or rupiah according to the Euro-rupiah exchange rate determined by the Board of Governors and valid for one semester, imperatively before the scheduled deadline.
  • The student’s access to class on the start of the school year in September will only be accepted after payment of first enrollment fees and tuition fees corresponding to the first invoice, even if the enrollment file is otherwise complete.
  • School’s leadership team reserves the right not to re-enroll students who are not up to date in the payment of their tuition fees from previous years.
  • In order to allow the school to operate, and for the sake of fairness towards other families, everyone is urged to respect the dates indicated above.

In the event of non-payment on the due date, a 10% penalty will initially be automatically applied. Later, the student will be refused entry to the school until his/her situation is regularized.

4. Exemptions

  • First enrollment fees:

A 50% exemption is granted for the 3rd child enrolled at LIFE school.

  • Tuition fees: 

A 25% exemption is granted on the lowest rate from the 4th child enrolled at LIFE school.

5. Scholarships

  • Students of French nationality may benefit from a scholarship, subject to income conditions and registration to the French Consulate in Jakarta. The file to be put together is to be collected from the school admissions office, during the scholarship campaign at the start of the calendar year for people already in Jakarta, or in September for the new arrivals.
  • Parents whose children benefit from a scholarship must pay the difference between the tuition fees and the amount of the scholarship on the set dates.
  • Those who do not know the outcome of their scholarship application in September will have to pay the tuition fees on the dates set or deposit a guarantee check. If applicable, they will be reimbursed as soon as we receive an official letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifying the amount of their scholarships.
  • The scholarship grantee (boursier) is fully decided “Commission des bourses” ; in the French Embassy. LIFE school has no part in the decision at all.

6. Other expenses

  • Invoices for educational outings, school meals, language certifications or speech therapy sessions, extra-curricular activities (AES) will be sent to parents according to the registration made by the family. It is requested that you respect the payment deadline indicated on the invoice. LIFE school reserves the right to refuse to allow a child to participate in an educational project, to have lunch at the school canteen or to continue speech therapy sessions if the payment of bills is not up to date.

7. Specific regulations

  • In the event of an early departure or an arrival during the academic year, the tuition fees are calculated according to the rule “every term started is due” with the following breakdown:
    • 1st quarter: from September 1st to November 30th
    • 2nd quarter: from December 1st to March 31st
    • 3rd quarter: from April 1st to June 30th
  • A temporary absence, whatever the duration and the reason, does not give the right to any discount or reimbursement of tuition fees.
