On Monday, January 17th, Americans celebrated a holiday about a famous person named Martin Luther King Jr., a minister and activist who became the most visible spokesman and leader in the American civil rights movement. This week, CE1 SI students have been learning about his life and the many contributions he made for the African American community. Students worked on a flap book which gives interesting facts about Martin Luther King and what he would think about our society if he were alive today.
CE2 SI students have also been learning about Martin Luther King. They have been studying his famous speech “I Have a Dream.” For the project, students made a craft and wrote at the bottom what their dream for society would be. Pictures and videos of their projects will be sent to the French school they are corresponding with in Seattle.
