For Chinese New Year, our students all dressed in red and splendid traditional clothes sang mandarin songs and played drums, gongs, cymbals and percussion to go with the Barongsai lion dance and to hunt the monster Nian under the direction of their music teacher Gabriel Laufer. The Middle High School students from Ms. Lisa Li’s chinese classes then brilliantly sang a few c-pop hits and traditional songs! All of this took place in the school entirely decorated with red lanterns, paintings and chalk drawings made with the students by our art teacher and artist Christine Dahinden!
