At our school we have an annual tradition of celebrating BATIK DAY on October 4th. In our CP class this year we faux batiked. Batik is a beautiful technique of wax resist on fabric. In making traditional  batik, hot wax is generally used. Instead of risking burned fingers, we decided to try a technique using oil pastels, acrylic paint and paper. It worked beautifully as a resist technique. Here are some pictures showing our CPs in action making faux batik.
