In SI, CE1 students have been learning about Abraham Lincoln, the 16th U.S. president. Abraham Lincoln was most famous for ending slavery through his Emanicipation Proclamation which declared slavery illegal. They learned about his life from birth until his death including many interesting facts. As an extension activity, they made Abraham Lincoln fact posters telling three facts about Abraham Lincoln. Below are some pictures of their work.

CE2 students have been studying about the western U.S. region. This week, they were able to focus on how the west was discovered through the exploration of Lewis and Clark, and how a Native American girl named Sacajawea was able to help them overcome some difficult parts of the journey. This also ties in with the November theme of Native American Heritage month.
