CE1 International Section students have been studying Susan B. Anthony. She was an American social reformer and women’s rights activist who played a pivotal role in the women’s suffrage movement. Before 1920, it was illegal for a woman to vote in an election. She was one of the primary people responsible for the 19 th amendment being passed giving women the right to vote. Sadly, she was not able to see it come to fruition as she passed away 14 years before the amendment was passed. In order to recognize Anthony’s role in women’s reform, the treasury department made a commemorative coin in her honor. For the students final project, they made flipbooks giving details about Anthony’s life. Below is an example of the flipbooks.
