The CM2-EMILE class is using art as a tool to focus on the essence and appreciation of geometry. This period CM2 is focused on learning about lines particularly drawing and identifying parallel and perpendicular lines. The class chose Mondrian’s work to demonstrate their understanding of the topic. It turned out to be a perfect match as Mondrian is known for his mastery in geometric simplicity turned into art.  The class particularly worked with Mondrian’s Composition No 10. 1915.  The basic line and cross pattern is something that the students felt confident in recreating. Here are some pictures of the finished artwork made by the students of CM2 (5th grade).
